This is a re-print of a book written by Dr J Coates, with a preface and notes by Dr Marco Paret. It goes over some definitions on the subject and various different methods of mesmeric passes being used at that time. Then it describes how to perform an entertainment, which I would compare to stage hypnotism. There is a lot of interesting information, like on how to perform the passes on animals, and the knowledge one can obtain from the deepest states of the mind. A must for anyone beginning in this field of inquiry.
